2025 Micro Magic R7CR

The Micro Magic Region 7 Championship was hosted by the Sun Coast Model Sailing Club on March 8-9, 2025. The two-day regatta was sailed at the club's venue at South County Regional Park in Punta Gorda, FL. We had 12 skippers with great weather. The winds cooperated both days, starting out very light but building to solid breezes from 11 o'clock on. "A" rigs, "B" rigs and a couple of "C" rigs were seen at some point during the weekend. Skippers came from Colorado, Texas and Alabama to join the local Florida sailors. With twelve skippers, we raced as a single fleet. In the end we had 32 races on the board with 4 throw outs.
At the end of racing, congratulations go to Ron Stephanz (1st) who won the regatta followed by Art Hawes (2nd), with Ray Seta (3rd). A raffle was conducted at lunch on Sunday. Prizes included a set of sails from Pat Dion at Dion Sails, a set of sails from Wilson Chong at HotRC Sails, a complete rig kit from Dick Azzam and a $50 gift certificate from Twisted Hobbys.
