2025 Soling 1M NCR

The Soling 1 Meter National Championship Regatta was hosted by the Sun Coast Model Sailing Club on April 4-6, 2025. The two-day regatta was sailed at the club's venue at South County Regional Park in Punta Gorda, FL. We had 15 skippers with exquisite weather. The winds cooperated both days, with breezes between 10-15mph, with a few higher gusts - ideal Soling conditions. There was enough variability in direction to keep the skippers guessing as to which side would be favored. Two Skippers came from Texas to join the Florida sailors. With fifteen skippers, we raced as a single fleet. In the end we had 32 races on the board with 5 throw outs.
At the end of racing, congratulations go to Don Ouimette (1st) who won the regatta, followed by Kurt Martin (2nd), and Ron Prokop (3rd). It was close, exciting racing throughout the regatta. A raffle was conducted at lunch on Sunday. Prizes included a boat kit generously donated by 3DRC, a set of sails from Pat Dion at Dion Sails, and a set of sails from Chuck Millican. Thank you all for contributing.
