Starting on Monday the forecast looked suspect, and it got worse as Sunday drew closer. But we made the call Saturday night to GO for the regatta on Sunday. Temps were in the 60s and it rained or drizzled all day. Light and a bit fluky winds let us get in one practice race and three real races before lunch. Fog came in and wind dropped off while we ate short rib chili, tomato and corn salad, snickerdoodle cookies, mac and cheese and more from Margo. Plus boat brownies and donuts left over from the Lightning regatta the day before.

10 skippers registered and only 3 were scared off by the forecast; model boat sailors are a hardy bunch; thank you for coming! Tim Wright stayed home instead of coming down to try for the 5-peat, letting us all move up one place in the standings. Thanks Tim! But we missed you and BB. The 7 remaining boats had some close and spirited racing. Glenn had a 1,2 score line and was coming in to the leeward mark in first place inches ahead of Bob. Glenn rounded tight - oops, too tight. His keel grabbed the anchor line and he sat there for 5 or more minutes while everyone else sailed by. One more race and he would have had a throwout.

But after lunch the fog and rain beat out the wind and the remaining races were cancelled. When it was finished Bob Shapiro in No Bean Salad took the win, followed by Tim Stone in second and then Glenn in third. Michael Hoydis was one point behind in fourth and Paul McBride another point back in fifth. 3D printed frames and laser boats were presented to the top 5 and to Ryan, Alan and Margo for their help.
