RC Laser Class Update and a Thank You to Nick Mortu
Dear RC Laser Class Members, On behalf of the American Model Yachting Association, I would like to take a moment to sincerely thank Nick Mortgu for his 23 years of service to the RC Laser Class. Nick served the class faithfully as Class Secretary, and the AMYA Insurance Director. His dedication, time, and steady commitment have helped support RC Laser class and the sailors who enjoy this class. We are very grateful for everything Nick has done, and we wish him all the best as he steps down from these roles. At the same time, I am pleased to announce that Frank Scalisi has stepped forward and will be taking on the role of RC Laser Class Secretary. Thank you, Frank, for your willingness to serve and help move the class forward. As Frank gets started, one of the most important tasks ahead is rebuilding and strengthening class communication. To help with this, we ask all RC Laser sailors who would like to be included on the class communication list to please send your contact information directly to Frank through the AMYA class page, https://www.theamya.org/BoatClassDetail.asp?BCID=16  This will allow Frank to create an up-to-date and reliable list for class news, regattas, and future announcements. Please also help by spreading the word to other RC Laser sailors who may not see this message. Looking ahead, there are many ways class members can help make the RC Laser Class strong and active: Share your contact information so communication can improve Help spread the word and grow participation Host and support great RC Laser regattas Encourage new and returning sailors to get involved With your help, Frank can build a solid foundation, and together we can continue to grow the RC Laser Class and make it better than ever. Thank you all for your continued support of the RC Laser Class and the AMYA. Fair winds, Dan Shier Vice President American Model Yachting Association
